Travel Tips - The Best Way to Pack for a Cruise

If you have decided that you want to take your holidays to some exotic destination by going on a cruise, you are going to want to make sure that you are fully prepared so that you can fully enjoy all that at cruise has to offer. One thing that is really important is what you bring with you and how you can pack it properly to get the most out of trip. You definitely don't want to end up being without something you needed after you are on the ship.

First thing to consider is to pack only the things that you truly are going to need for your cruise. It's going to make things a lot easier if you don't bring things you really don't need and it will also give you more room to buy things on your trip to bring back with you.

The first thing you should pack are the underwear that you will be needing. You should pack these in any of the outside pockets you might have on your suitcase. It's best to roll them up instead of folding them because this will take up far less room.

The next thing you should do is if you are bringing shorts roll them up with a T-shirt and put those in the very bottom of your suitcase. You then can continue to more shorts and T-shirts by doing the same thing. This way you will have more room for other clothes that need a little more room. If you are bringing pants or a dress or two you can lay the dress so that it overlaps the suitcase, then fold the pants on a flat surface in half and lay inside of the dress. After you have done that fold the edges of the dress over the pants.

Only take a couple of pairs of shoes, for instance the pair you'll be wearing when you board and one extra pair. You should take the shoes and put them in a plastic bag so that you protect your clothes. Lay the shoes on top of your clothes that you have already packed.

After you have put the shoes in you should then take a zipper bag and place your personal hygiene items in the bag a long with your sun screen, medicine for motion sickness, pain relief and any prescription medicines you might be on. Place this bag of items on your clothes.

Once you have done that you can continue to add items into your suitcase like your camera, extra hangers, some laundry detergent (small box), your own electric power strip, a travel iron and any other items you feel will be absolutely necessary.

The reason for bringing the power strip is because very few of the cabins on a ship will have the outlets you will need for all the different electrical items you might want to bring and they never offer enough hangers for all of your clothes.

Vacation Advice - Top Tips For Packing Your Suitcase

Believe it or not, but when it comes to packing your suitcase, it can be quite an exercise in a strategic manner. When you getting ready to take off for your holidays to wherever you've been planning, you are going to want to make sure that your suitcase or suitcases are packed in a manner that is going to be organized and is in a fashion in which your clothes are going to be as free of wrinkles as possible.

When you start packing your clothes there should be a certain order that you pack them in for cutting down on the wrinkles that can happen when packed for too long of a period of time. All shirts should be put on the bottom of the suitcase and if there are any dresses they should go next with pants being the top item of clothing being put in the suitcase.

The tops that you know are more prone to wrinkling should be unfolded when you put them at the bottom of the suitcase if at all possible. The ones that wrinkle the least should be put more towards the top of your suitcase. You should always make sure that all sleeves are folded in towards the torso of all of your shirts and tops. With the sleeves folded in towards the torso you can then fold the top or shirt in half from the bottom up, you will kind of have a triangle when you do this.

When you are packing a dress you need to drape the dress over the suitcase so the ends of the dress is hanging over the sides of the suitcase. You should make sure that you take all pants and skirts and fold them while they are on a surface that is flat. The best way to fold them is by folding them in half and always lengthwise. Once you have done this take your folded pants or skits and place them on top of any dresses there might be. After that, you can then take the ends of your dresses over the pants and skirts.

When it comes to your accessories you should roll any ties you are taking very loosely and stuff your socks into your shoes. You should also use the side pockets of your suitcase to pack your underwear in, this will help to save you some space in the suitcase itself. When you put your shoes in the suitcase make sure that the heal of one shoe is aligned with the toe of your other shoe. Make sure that your shoes are in plastic bags and arrange them around the edges of the suitcases.

So that your clothes are protected make sure that all of your personal hygiene items are put in plastic bags as well so there is no possibility of something leaking onto your clothes. It's also important that the more important products you use is put in your carry on bag or tote, for example your toothpaste and toothbrush and any medications that you might be on.

Never pack valuables in your suitcase for any reason. Always keep things like your money, medicine, keys and expensive jewelry with you in case your luggage happens to get lost.

How to Pack Light for Your Next Trip

If you are planning to travel in a plane on your next trip or vacation, you may want to consider packing a lot lighter than you normally do. With the way the new rules are with airlines and with more and more airlines beginning to charge for each bag other than your carry on, you will save yourself a lot of money as well as a lot of time and effort it takes to lug around all that extra luggage.

The best thing you can do is try to be able to use just your carry on suitcase. So you will need to figure out the bare essentials that you will need to take with you on your trip. This will also help you cut down on money.

It's a good idea to have cloths are specially made for travel, this would be lightweight and wrinkle free types of clothing. This way you won't have to worry about your clothes if you stuff in a lot into your carry on bag. You also might want to add one of those collapsible types of bags to carry stuff in that you might buy on your trip.

Try and stick with one color for your clothes you plan to travel with. This way it will be a lot easier to mix your wardrobe easily. Black, gray, navy or white for skirts, pants or dresses can all be mixed with a number of different colors of blouses. For men a couple of pairs of pants and a few different shirts can last an entire week.

Use a small zipper bag for underwear and pack one for each day you will be gone a long with a couple of extra. Once you have these items in the zipper bag, before zipping sit on the bag to get all of the air out and then zip it. This way you should be able to easily fit the bag in a side pocket of your suitcase.

If you know the hotel you are going to will have shampoo, soap and conditioner, don't bring them along with you. Or if you are not sure then just get yourself the travel size so that there will be less bulk to add to your suitcase when packing it.

When you go to pack all of your items it's important that if you have a dress or a suit that you put them in first and let the edges hang over the suitcase. Fold everything else in half and then start rolling them into a cylinder, this is typical military style of packing. This will give you a lot more space and it also cuts down on wrinkles. Place these cylinders on the suit or dress and then fold the ends over the items you rolled up. Finally put your shoes on top. Note: with shoes, try to only bring two pair, the ones you are wearing and one in your suitcase.

Final note: If you plan on buying something new to wear while on your trip then take less clothes with you and wear what you buy while you are still on your trip. Also, try and leave a little room for anything that you might buy while on your trip.
