Holiday Advice - Packing for a Bus Tour of Europe!

So you are finally going to get your chance to travel in Europe and you've decided that after you get off the plane that you are going to be taking a bus tour of Europe. Whether it's for one week or three weeks you are going to plan for the idea that there simply is not going to be much room and that means you had better plan for that when it comes to packing.

Below are tips on what to do when touring on a bus while taking your holidays to Europe.

It's really important that the piece of luggage you pick is going to be something that is going to be easy for you to manage and that it can be carried easily and can be left on the bus with ease as well. An oversized backpack or a smaller suitcase that is on wheels should work very nicely.

You need to research the places that you will be visiting and make sure that you know what the weather is generally like at all of your destinations during the time of year that you will be traveling there. This is really important so that you know what kind of clothing you should be packing.

To begin with start with the basics and pack two T-shirts a long with two of your most comfortable pairs of pants. Make sure that you have a couple of different thickness of materials when choosing your clothes so that you will be able to adjust to the different weather. Also, make sure that the material that you choose is made of material that will dry fast.

After you have the two T-shirts and pants then add a couple of wrinkle proof tops or shirts a long with a skirt and a nice pair of pants as well as a dress if you are a woman. For men make sure there are a couple of nicer shirts and dress pants. You don't always want to wear T-shirts and jeans. Dressing in other types of clothing will help you look less the tourist anyway.

You should also add some sort of raincoat or a lighter coat for inclement weather. It wouldn't hurt to include an umbrella either and a sweater and scarf in case you run into places that have some cold evenings.

You should wear one pair of comfortable shoes or sandals and have one other pair in your suitcase, two at the most, one a walking pair the other a pair of dress shoes if you plan on going somewhere nice during one of your stops.

When you are packing your underwear and other person hygiene items make sure you base this on what kind of travel time you will be experiencing in between the different hotels you'll be staying at. If the journeys will be long distances then pack according to that however; if they are shorter journeys you will be able to buy things you need and will have the opportunity to wash your things during your stays.

Items that you should have handy and not packed away when traveling on the bus would be books, your MP3 or iPods and especially your camera. Make sure that you have this at your dispose so you can capture some of the incredible sights you will see while riding on the bus.

Final notes: Make sure that you pack an adapter for any electric items you have brought and also include a small clock, something to write on and write with, sunglasses and plenty of minutes on your phone if you are bringing your cell phone.

Vacation Advice - Basic Packing Tips for Women Travelling Anywhere

Packing is an essential thing that you must do in order to go on vacation and have all of the things that you need to enjoy your trip. But this does not have to mean that in order to fulfill your needs that you have to over pack and take too much luggage with you.

It doesn't matter if you plan your holidays to an exotic island or to a big city there are some simple and basic tips that will help you to pack for anywhere you are planning on going.

First thing you should do is go over your itinerary that you have for your vacation. When you do this make sure to take into consideration the activities you plan on being involved with each day that you are on your trip.

You should take time to make sure that your clothes you are taking are color coordinated making it easier for you to be able to get a way with less clothes while looking like you brought an entire wardrobe with you.

You do this by taking a basic color that is a solid color like one skirt, one pair of pants and one dress. Generally black or navy are good solid colors to go with. Then you can pick out one top that is a solid color as well. Say a cream color or beige.

You should probably have a top for each day you will be gone and you can have a variety of colors and patterns if your basics are solid colors. Add a couple of scarves one solid and one patterned to add as accessories to your wardrobe.

At the most you should only take three pairs of shoes, one pair of dress shoes, one pair of casual shoes and one pair of walking shoes. You should wear the walking shoes when you get on the plane and have the other two pairs of shoes in the suitcase.

If you have items that might need to be ironed it's best if you iron them and then put them in garment bags with other items that might need ironing and then flatten out the garment bag so that most of the air is out of the bag and then fold in half and lay flat in your suitcase. This will also save you a lot of room in your suitcase.

If you have decided to bring a blazer as part of your wardrobe for your trip it's probably a good idea to wear the blazer when you board the plane, this is yet another way to save room in your suitcase. Items like undergarments can be rolled up and put in the outside pockets of your suitcase and you can place all of your personal hygiene and makeup into a zipper bag that can easily be put on top of everything that is already packed.

If you do this just right, you should not have to check in your bag instead you should be able to carry it on and put it in the overhead compartment of the plane. This will save you not only time but money as well since you won't have to find your bags nor will you have to pay for checking in your bags.

How to Pack Light for Your Next Trip

If you are planning to travel in a plane on your next trip or vacation, you may want to consider packing a lot lighter than you normally do. With the way the new rules are with airlines and with more and more airlines beginning to charge for each bag other than your carry on, you will save yourself a lot of money as well as a lot of time and effort it takes to lug around all that extra luggage.

The best thing you can do is try to be able to use just your carry on suitcase. So you will need to figure out the bare essentials that you will need to take with you on your trip. This will also help you cut down on money.

It's a good idea to have cloths are specially made for travel, this would be lightweight and wrinkle free types of clothing. This way you won't have to worry about your clothes if you stuff in a lot into your carry on bag. You also might want to add one of those collapsible types of bags to carry stuff in that you might buy on your trip.

Try and stick with one color for your clothes you plan to travel with. This way it will be a lot easier to mix your wardrobe easily. Black, gray, navy or white for skirts, pants or dresses can all be mixed with a number of different colors of blouses. For men a couple of pairs of pants and a few different shirts can last an entire week.

Use a small zipper bag for underwear and pack one for each day you will be gone a long with a couple of extra. Once you have these items in the zipper bag, before zipping sit on the bag to get all of the air out and then zip it. This way you should be able to easily fit the bag in a side pocket of your suitcase.

If you know the hotel you are going to will have shampoo, soap and conditioner, don't bring them along with you. Or if you are not sure then just get yourself the travel size so that there will be less bulk to add to your suitcase when packing it.

When you go to pack all of your items it's important that if you have a dress or a suit that you put them in first and let the edges hang over the suitcase. Fold everything else in half and then start rolling them into a cylinder, this is typical military style of packing. This will give you a lot more space and it also cuts down on wrinkles. Place these cylinders on the suit or dress and then fold the ends over the items you rolled up. Finally put your shoes on top. Note: with shoes, try to only bring two pair, the ones you are wearing and one in your suitcase.

Final note: If you plan on buying something new to wear while on your trip then take less clothes with you and wear what you buy while you are still on your trip. Also, try and leave a little room for anything that you might buy while on your trip.

Ways to Keep Your Luggage Safe When Traveling

If you plan to take holidays to anywhere around the world there is always the chance that something could happen to your luggage. There generally is plenty of security while your luggage is in the airline terminal but it's up to you after that to take care of your luggage. There are a few ways that you can ensure the safety of your luggage.

When you are in the airport for even more security if at all possible don't check in your bags. But if you find out that there is no way to do this the most important thing that you can do is to remove anything you consider of value with you in your carry on bag. This will protect your valuables in case the suitcase is lost during travel.

It is a good idea to buy luggage that has some sort of unusual pattern or color from the ordinary luggage you would see. If your luggage is unusual looking the likelihood of them getting mixed up or taken by someone else by accident will be cut down immensely.

Instead of using the normal luggage tags for your name and address. Instead you should take a permanent marker like a Sharpie and write your name and address in large letters on your suitcases. If your suitcase is of a dark nature you should use a silver or gold one so it can be more visible.

Combination locks are also a nice feature you can purchase. Make sure that they come with a cord that is thick. This cord can then be looped around something that is immoveable like a bed frame or other piece of heavy furniture.

Always make sure that you are suspicious of anyone who tries to offer you any kind of help or even taxi service if they can't give you some sort of official identification to prove who they are. This is a very popular way for thieves to get a way to rip you off.

When you check into the hotel you might be staying at it is a very good idea not to let the bell hop take your bags up a head of you to your room. If you want the help from someone then make sure that they give you this help when you are all walking up to the room together.

You should make an inventory and take photos of all of your items that you have in your luggage. Even though the chances that you may not get all of your lost and stolen items back it is better to do this than not be prepared. If you take care of reporting a loss or theft then you will definitely be helping yourself and the authorities if you have this information to give them.
