Holiday Advice - Packing for a Bus Tour of Europe! |
So you are finally going to get your chance to travel in Europe and you've decided that after you get off the plane that you are going to be taking a bus tour of Europe. Whether it's for one week or three weeks you are going to plan for the idea that there simply is not going to be much room and that means you had better plan for that when it comes to packing.
Below are tips on what to do when touring on a bus while taking your holidays to Europe. It's really important that the piece of luggage you pick is going to be something that is going to be easy for you to manage and that it can be carried easily and can be left on the bus with ease as well. An oversized backpack or a smaller suitcase that is on wheels should work very nicely. You need to research the places that you will be visiting and make sure that you know what the weather is generally like at all of your destinations during the time of year that you will be traveling there. This is really important so that you know what kind of clothing you should be packing. To begin with start with the basics and pack two T-shirts a long with two of your most comfortable pairs of pants. Make sure that you have a couple of different thickness of materials when choosing your clothes so that you will be able to adjust to the different weather. Also, make sure that the material that you choose is made of material that will dry fast. After you have the two T-shirts and pants then add a couple of wrinkle proof tops or shirts a long with a skirt and a nice pair of pants as well as a dress if you are a woman. For men make sure there are a couple of nicer shirts and dress pants. You don't always want to wear T-shirts and jeans. Dressing in other types of clothing will help you look less the tourist anyway. You should also add some sort of raincoat or a lighter coat for inclement weather. It wouldn't hurt to include an umbrella either and a sweater and scarf in case you run into places that have some cold evenings. You should wear one pair of comfortable shoes or sandals and have one other pair in your suitcase, two at the most, one a walking pair the other a pair of dress shoes if you plan on going somewhere nice during one of your stops. When you are packing your underwear and other person hygiene items make sure you base this on what kind of travel time you will be experiencing in between the different hotels you'll be staying at. If the journeys will be long distances then pack according to that however; if they are shorter journeys you will be able to buy things you need and will have the opportunity to wash your things during your stays. Items that you should have handy and not packed away when traveling on the bus would be books, your MP3 or iPods and especially your camera. Make sure that you have this at your dispose so you can capture some of the incredible sights you will see while riding on the bus. Final notes: Make sure that you pack an adapter for any electric items you have brought and also include a small clock, something to write on and write with, sunglasses and plenty of minutes on your phone if you are bringing your cell phone. |

How to Avoid Disasters While on Vacation With Your Family |
There is no doubt that everyone at some time in their life has had a vacation that went horribly wrong, something they may laugh about now but really didn't seem all that funny at the time that it happened. Things like flights being delayed or even canceled, the car broke down in the middle of nowhere, someone got hurt, etc. You can make an attempt to avoid such things if you are well prepared and do some good planning for your vacation.
No matter where you plan your holidays to it is always a very good idea that you do research on the place that you are going to vacation at. Make sure that this research includes things that are currently going on in and around the area, especially if it's another country. A good example would be if you were going to a different country and you weren't aware of the current affairs of the country and you arrived there right in the middle of a military takeover of the government. You also wouldn't want to go to another state right when a tornado or hurricane might be touching down. So make sure you know what's going on in the place you are planning to visit. If you are taking your own vehicle it's really a good idea if you make sure your care has a tune up and is in good running condition before you even leave your driveway for the trip. Make sure every little thing your mechanic might find that could be an issue later on, is fixed before your vacation. This may cost you a little extra but it's better than being stranded in the middle of nowhere. If you are flying to your destination, make sure you research the airline you are considering and see if there are any kind of problems that the airline might be having issues with. Make sure you have airline contact numbers and their customer service numbers so that if you do have any problems you can contact people that might be able to help you. No matter how you travel make sure that you have some sort of first aid kit with you at all times during your vacation with your family. You should also know how to do first aid as well in case there is a time that arises that you can't seek medical help immediately. This is one thing that could save a life. You should at all times have some sort of list with all the people that are important contacts should anything happen. If you have a cell phone make sure to put all of these numbers on your phone. These numbers should include a couple of neighbors, close relatives, someone you work with you are close to, your doctor and even a lawyer if you have one. These numbers are especially important if you are in a different country and disaster strikes. It's always a good idea to have plenty of things for the kids and family to do to keep themselves occupied is something does happen to go wrong and you get stuck somewhere. Make sure to have plenty of games, crosswords, Sudoku, books, cards, music and even DVD's if you have a portable DVD player. Final Note: Whatever you do, don't make yourself crazy over planning for possible disasters. These can and will happen but if you are obsessed by it you are going to take away all the fun you should be having with your family while you are on vacation. |
