If the amusement park you are going to offers multi-day passes it would be in your best interest to go with this because you will end up spending a lot less than if you just bought a daily pass. For example it costs $60 per adult for a day pass at places like Disney, Universal and Sea World. Those prices drop dramatically if you buy multi-day passes.

It's always a good idea to get a hold of the tourist center in the area and see if they offer any coupons or special discounts for the amusement park or parks in their area. They are the place that can offer you deals that are not being advertised. Sometimes you can find deals where you can save 20 percent off the entrance price a long with meals and other deals.

You can also save money by traveling in the middle of the week. You will save money on your hotel room, your air fare and the lines at the park you are going to will be far shorter than they will be during the weekends and holidays.

You should also consider what you bring with you. Most importantly make sure that the shoes you are going to wear are extremely comfortable. Bring plenty of sunscreen with you because you will be standing in long lines in the sun. Make sure that each person has at least one bottle of water when they come to the park, buying water there will be expensive. Try to bring a lunch but if you can't at least bring your own snacks to have something to munch on. Always consider bringing some sort of light rain gear, you never know how quickly weather can change. And finally, always make sure to grab the park maps the minute you walk into the park and give one to everyone. This is important so that if you split up, you know where to go and find one another.
