Budget Holidays - Taking a Las Vegas Vacation on a Budget!

Gone are the days when going to Las Vegas was probably one of the least expensive destinations. Now it seems that all of that has changed with all of it's luxury hotels and high end dining along with a variety of designer shops. However; if you still want to go check out Sin City and all it has to offer, you can still do it on a budget if you plan it just right.

One way to save a lot of money on your hotel price is to plan for your holidays to Vegas during a time in which a lot of tourists don't go. If you book your hotel in July or August during the hottest time of the year or in December before Christmas you will find that even the more expensive hotels are going to be dropping their room rates to get people to come and stay with them.

You should also try to make sure that you plan to come and visit during the week when the prices are lower. If you trip includes the weekends you are going to have to pay a huge increase in the amount of money for your room. The hotels up the prices of the rooms during Fridays and Saturdays.

Also consider signing up for a variety of different email promotions that you can find on the different hotel websites. If you do this prior to your arrival date you will get periodic emails from these hotels that might offer you some deals that you might want to use in order to save money on accommodations, meals and maybe even some shows in town.

Make sure to check all of the hotels, don't just stick with the ones on the strip. You can look into the prices for the downtown hotels and those off strip. Ones off the strip often offer free shuttles to take you to the strip as part of their accommodations package. So you could save a lot of money by doing this. The key here is you need to be a smart shopper when it comes to finding an affordable room in Vegas.

When you check into the hotel that you decided upon make sure not to be shy and ask them if there are any free upgrades. Many times during the off season the hotels will allow you to upgrade your room with extra amenities or a better view for the same price of your original room.

When you are there and plan to go out to eat in Vegas make sure you fill up on their breakfast buffets. This is usually the time of day when the food is the least expensive and is offered at just about all of the hotels in Vegas.

You should also look for Happy Hours around town where you will find a variety of bars and lounges offering great deals on their drinks and a variety of different appetizers that you might be able to get full on. You will also find a lot of low prices for food if you go and visit the Food Court in the Fashion Show Mall. There's a large variety of food that's not going to break the bank.

Also don't forget about hotel coupons that all hotels offer their guests. A lot of times there will be buy one get one free coupons that will really come in handy and consider finding out where all the locals hang out. More than likely they'll be hanging out at places with good food at lower prices.

There are a ton of things you can do and see while in Vegas. One thing you can do which can take days is to visit all of the hotels on the Strip. Each hotel has something unique to offer and so much of it is free as well. From the Bellagio's water entertainment and it's botanical gardens to the Mirage with it's volcano.

When wanting to see a show see if where you're staying doesn't offer two for one coupons for these as well or go during times of the day that the prices are lower. The prices during the peak evening hours of course are going to be more expensive.

And finally, if you want a break from the hustle and bustle of the bright lights and casino noise, rent a car, take a packed lunch and drive out to Red Rock Canyon for a some quiet and lovely scenery.

Travel Tips - Making Travel Easier During the Holidays

If you are planning a trip for the holidays to a destination that is not out of the country, you still are going to run into a lot of things that could make for a stressful trip and it's always a good idea for you to make sure that you have a good plan for your trip, no matter where you travel to. Making sure that you plan well in advance is going to help you lower the stress of traveling during any holiday.

One of the first things you should probably consider is to try and pack as light as you can. If it is all possible you should try and just take a carry on bag with you and try to avoid a lot of excess luggage that needs to be checked in and in most cases will cost you extra for each additional bag these days. It is also a good idea if you do some research by going online and checking the airlines website to see what they do and don't allow you to bring on board.

If it's during Christmas and you have gifts that you need to bring with you, you can save yourself a lot of stress and money if you simply mail the gifts a head of time to where your final destination is. A lot of airlines don't allow wrapped gifts on board and you may have to check them in like luggage. There also is the chance they could get lost or even stolen.

When picking out the dates of your travel, you really need to do this smartly. Some people who do not travel often don't realize that the days before the actual holiday and the days right after are usually the days that the airlines charge more money. If you can wait to fly out on the actual day of the holiday you will save money because the air fare is usually cheaper on the holiday itself.

Don't take your own car to the airport so you can avoid the outrageous prices they will charge you to keep your car there. You should either arrange for family or friends to take you and pick you up or just take public transportation instead. This will save a lot of money and stress.

You might also want to see if your airline gives you the opportunity to be able to arrive at a regional airport that might be just outside of your destination instead of flying into a large airport that will be over crowded and more than likely cost more to fly to.

Early morning flights, as much as they may be inconvenient for you are probably the best times to fly because they are usually cheaper and the crowds are not as bad. Early flights also generally have less of a chance of being delayed. You also might consider a non-stop flight as well because they are delayed less than other flights.

It's always a good idea to try to come and check in as early as you possibly can. The earlier you check in the shorter the line will be. These lines can be extremely long and even some flights might end up being over booked and you could end up having to take a different flight. So get there early and bring something with you like music or a good book for your wait after checking in.

Make sure you bring plenty of snacks with you, bring extra batteries for anything you have that requires them. Make sure that what you are wearing is really comfortable. If you are on any medications make sure they are not packed away and are with you. Smile, keep with the spirit of the holiday at all times and everything should be OK.

When Is The Best Time To Travel?

When you decide to take your holidays in a place that perhaps you have never been before it's a very good idea if you take the time to figure out just when it might be the best time to travel to your destination. It's important to take into consideration all of the various factors that will help to influence how much you will actually enjoy your trip.

If you travel plans are going to be domestic and you will travel in a plan then you probably won't have much problems with the air fare if you live in the United States. Generally the domestic air fare is pretty constant all year round, except for when there might be some specials that come up. Which you might want to keep your eyes open to. You also might want to be alert to the fact however; that during peak times like Christmas and Thanksgiving there actually might be some surcharges hidden so you may end up paying more for your air fare at these popular travel times.

Some airlines do offer different prices if you fly at different times during the week. You might want to check and see if the airline you are considering offers lower rates if you fly during the middle of the week instead of flying on the weekends.

So you should note if you are traveling during holidays, book very early. If you are traveling at any other time of the year try and wait for a sale on the fares, if none come up within thirty days of your planning then you should probably just go a head and book the least expensive that you can find at the time. Pick the days you want to fly carefully as well as the times and if there are stops or non-stop flights. Choosing non-stop could cost you more than the flights that have stopovers.

If you are in the United States and are planning an international flight there are going to be differences. Prices for coach especially are going to change in price depending upon the time of year that you are planning to fly. You might find as much as a $600 difference between peak seasons and off season air fares. The different days of the week can also affect the prices immensely. Changing your flight plan by one day could increase or decrease your cost as much as $300, especially if there are more than one of you flying together.

The season for flying and air fare is generally decided on the day that you are planning to leave the United States. You might find that the day you leave is in the low season and the day that you come back is going to be in the peak season. This will affect the price of your ticket as well. So it's important that you know when the low seasons begin and end as well as the peak seasons and when they begin and end.

Make sure to check out the weather for your destination, sometimes what is considered the best times or most expensive times to fly there is not always the best time of year at your destination when it comes to weather. If you find a time of year the weather is better it might turn out to be the time of year that is considered the low season for flying in the United States and this could save you a bundle of money on air fare.

The weeks will be divided up into segments and it depends upon the airlines how they do it. For instance some airlines will only consider Monday through Wednesday as weekday flights and Thursday through Sunday as their weekend flights, so it is important that you find out how the airline divides it's week up in order to save some money on your tickets.

No matter where your destination is, you will need accommodations. Accommodations will also have prices that vary according to the different high and low seasons so it's in your best interest that you do your research well with regards to where you will be staying. It may sound like a lot of work but you should try your best to make your accommodations match the same low or high season as your airline and it's fares if you are truly wanting to save yourself some money.

You should also consider staying in places that are business centered and give out special weekend breaks. Try to stay in a hotel that also gives special weekday rates for their visitors. You should also make sure that the hotel you stay at gives some sort of discount for those who stay for several days. You can also ask them a head of time if they will be offering any kind of specials around the time of your arrival.

In closing, when planning your trip try to stay away from the times of the year that are the most expensive to fly and to find accommodations, which means try to avoid going during the most popular times of the year. If you take time out to plan well you will end up not only having a great vacation but at a much lower price.
